What does it mean to be a Builder?

Gripps Coffee is made for Builders, but what does that mean? We don’t mean it in an occupational way such that Builders are those that work in construction – although these people can still be Builders. We define a Builder as one who approaches life with a bias for creation - someone who takes vision and gives it form in an effort to make the world a better place.

Builders look for ways to add value and create joy. Using the skill set they’ve nurtured and the traits they’ve inherited, Builders apply their talents to create things. They build businesses, families, communities, and cultures. The way they operate can differ drastically, but they all share a common goal, to create progress in the world around them and in their own lives. Sometimes that progress is humble and sometimes it’s ambitious, but in all of their endeavors, Builders constantly challenge the status quo.

The opposite of the Builder is the Consumer. The Consumer demands and takes. The Consumer sees the world as a zero-sum game with pleasure being their main motivator. Maximizing consumption and minimizing contribution are the main traits of the Consumer.

At Gripps Coffee we want to create and encourage more Builders to do their work. We do this through coffee, the tool of Builders. We buy the best organic beans on the planet and roast them fresh, all in an effort to give Builders the energy to create.

We believe that the world is a better place when there are more Builders building things. Whether it’s a career, a family, a piece of art, a product, or a new sense of self – the world gets better when people are creating. No matter what you’re creating we want to encourage you. Don’t stop building.
